Introduction
If you have any questions about The Phoenix Fellowship Application Process prior to submitting your application, please refer to our Guidance Notes and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) documents.
Please note that there is no advantage for applicants who submit their applications early in the registration window; we thus strongly advise you to take your time and fill in the form carefully, especially the personal statements. Please note that we will not consider incomplete applications.
Application Dates
Applications for 2026-2027 will open 9am 1st February 2026 and close at 5pm GMT on 31st March 2026. Applications received after March 31st 2025 at 5pm GMT will not be accepted.
Eligibility Check
Your application will only be processed for The Phoenix Fellowship if you meet the following sets of criteria:
- You currently live in the UK.
- You are a refugee (or the dependent of a refugee) who has been granted indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK.
- You have been accepted onto at least one doctorate or undergraduate or postgraduate course at a UK university – see below.
- You are pursuing EITHER a full-time professional degree in Medicine, Dentistry, or Veterinary Medicine, OR a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate degree in one of the following scientific disciplines: Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or Psychology.
- You are under the age of 35 at the time of your application.
