An Invitation to Corporate Sponsors
Support the next generation of Scientists, Doctors and Innovators
The Phoenix Fellowship invites corporate partners to help shape a future defined by talent, resilience and shared responsibility. We are a UK charity that supports exceptional refugee
students, many of whom have overcome considerable barriers, to pursue degrees in medicine and science. These individuals bring not only academic promise but a depth of experience and resolve
that enrich the fields they enter. This is an opportunity for you to invest in future doctors, dentists, veterinarians and scientists whose work will have a lasting impact.
Our Fellows are refugee students, particularly women, who have secured places at leading UK universities to study medicine or science and who have a financial need that, if fulfilled, will
allow them to excel in their studies. For many, this follows years of disrupted education, displacement and uncertainty. To have reached this point has required not only academic talent but a
depth of determination few are ever asked to show.
Your support does not just fund degrees. It helps create an environment where refugee students can fully participate, contribute and thrive. Fellows benefit from targeted assistance that
addresses the practical and structural barriers they face, including help navigating housing, clinical placements, financial planning and professional networking. Trained specialists in
refugee education also support students in overcoming challenges specific to their backgrounds.
By partnering with The Phoenix Fellowship, your organisation can help ensure that talent is not lost to circumstance, and that those who have already overcome so much can contribute meaningfully to science, medicine and society.
The Fellowship has been established with an initial commitment of £3 million from its founders, reflecting their belief in the mission and a desire to lead by example. Building on this foundation, the programme also provides academic support and and long-term professional development. Trained specialists in refugee education also support students in navigating specific challenges relevant to refugees.
Ways to Get Involved
Mentorship and Resources
Beyond financial support, your team can also:
- Offer mentorship and/or career guidance to Fellows
- Host internships and/or shadowing opportunities.
- Provide in-kind resources such as IT equipment, training or workspace.
You may be wondering why a bank, consultancy, or tech firm should support a programme helping refugee students become doctors, dentists, scientists or veterinarians. The answer lies in how your organisation sees its role supporting society at large; i.e., not only who it employs, but also what it stands for:
- Your support reflects your values in action. You may not go on to employ these Fellows, but supporting them demonstrates a genuine commitment to inclusion, equity, and global opportunity. This is not about charity; it’s about backing potential wherever it is found.
- Your support meets strategic ESG and CSR goals. The Phoenix Fellowship provides a credible, measurable way to support ESG and CSR objectives, particularly in relation to social mobility, education, and community resilience.
- Your support deepens employee engagement. Many employees today are looking for ways to contribute socially beyond their day-to-day role, particularly in ways that reflect their organisation’s values. The Phoenix Fellowship offers a clear and structured opportunity for staff to do so in a way that reflects your organisation’s values while speaking to the sense of purpose many professionals seek. If you’ve hired people who care about social responsibility, this is a meaningful way to support them in acting on it.
- Your support builds trust. Clients, shareholders, and stakeholders increasingly expect organisations to invest in real, lasting impact. Supporting The Phoenix Fellowship sends a clear signal that you care not only about outcomes, but about the kind of future your organisation is helping to build.
- Your support helps create the conditions in which everyone can thrive. Strong societies need doctors. They need scientists. And dentists. They need people with lived experience and the skill to make a difference. Your support will help make that possible.
We believe corporate partners bring encouragement, opportunity, and long-term value. On behalf of our Fellows, we welcome, and are deeply grateful for, your interest in partnering with us. Thank you.

Why Mentorship Matters
Mentorship is central to our model. We work with experienced professionals, including those from corporate partners, to offer guidance, encouragement, and practical insight throughout a Fellow’s academic journey. Fellows are selected not only for their academic ability but also for their willingness to help others as they progress. This creates a culture of reciprocity and purpose that reflects the value many organizations seek to foster internally.
We welcome corporate partners who recognize that inclusion, education, and talent development are integral to long-term success. By supporting The Phoenix Fellowship, your organization will join a model that combines academic sponsorship, mentoring, and specialist support for those who need it most. In doing so, you will help build a future grounded in potential, resilience, and shared purpose.
- Purposeful Impact: Support students who have overcome extraordinary challenges to contribute meaningfully to science, healthcare and public life.
- Talent Pipeline: Connect with a new generation of ambitious students whose perspectives and resilience have been shaped by lived experience.
