The Phoenix Fellowship Fellow Reception, 2026
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming our first-ever cohort of Phoenix Fellows and their families at our Inaugural Reception at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.✨
After almost a year of building the foundations of the Phoenix Fellowship and running our first application cycle, we selected five brilliant refugee-background students pursuing Medicine degrees at universities across the UK to make up the inaugural cohort.
These students truly embody what we envisioned for a Phoenix Fellow: resilience, academic excellence, ambition, and a drive to empower others. It was a privilege to gather the Fellows and their families in person as we celebrated the start of what we hope will be a thriving network of transformative leaders in healthcare.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the idea of the Fellowship into a reality - from our wonderful Academic Advisory Board members, to Refugee Education UK, to every other supporter who lent a helping hand along the way.
To our inaugural Fellows, we wish you the absolute best in your studies as you begin this new academic year!
