The Phoenix Fellowship
The Phoenix Fellowship supports refugee students, especially women, who wish to shape the future of science and medicine. Beyond funding, we offer encouragement, practical guidance, and mentorship to sustain students throughout their academic journey.
To help build this foundation, the Fellowship is being launched with an initial commitment of £3 million, ensuring the strongest support for the academic and professional development of future Fellows.
“Driven by the belief that talent must not be lost to circumstance, we support refugee students as they prepare to become the doctors and scientists of tomorrow."
An Invitation to Corporations
The Phoenix Fellowship invites corporate partners to invest in individuals whose resilience, values, and commitment to the public good make them worthy of our support.
We are a UK charity that supports exceptional refugee students to study medicine and science. Having overcome significant barriers to reach higher education and pursue careers dedicated to improving the lives of others, your investment supports students whose determination and purpose will shape the society we share.

Katy's Story
Arriving in the UK as a 13-year-old refugee from Iran, Katy was supported by an education system that recognised and nurtured her academic potential. Today, she is an internationally recognised physician scientist and researcher in cancer immunotherapy. With her husband Richard, she founded The Phoenix Fellowship to give refugee students the opportunity to realise their own potential.
